Visitor Guidelines – Do’s and Don’ts
To ensure a safe and respectful experience for all, visitors are kindly requested to adhere to the following rules during their time at the Periyar Tiger Reserve:
Do’s
Take photographs—but ensure you do not disturb ongoing shows or wildlife.
Respect local customs and traditions.
Dispose of waste responsibly—carry back all non-biodegradable litter and leave campsites clean.
Maintain a safe distance from wild animals during Elephant Safaris and Jungle Jeep Safaris.
Obey all instructions given by guides and staff.
Don’ts
Do not litter the surroundings.
Do not talk loudly or play loud music—it disturbs wildlife and other visitors.
Do not feed wild animals during safaris.
Do not provoke or try to interact closely with wild animals.
Do not light fires or smoke in protected areas—forest fires can cause devastating damage.
Booking & Cancellation Policy
General Terms
Full payment is required at the time of booking.
Bookings/Reservations are non-transferable.
Rescheduling or cancellations are allowed only as per the official policy.
Guests must adhere to the check-in/check-out times mentioned in their program schedule.
Included activities are subject to individual program terms and conditions.
Payment gateway charges, check-post entry fees, taxes, and cess (as applicable) will be borne by the guest.
Rescheduling / Cancellation Policy
1. Exceptional Circumstances (Force Majeure)
If your booking is affected due to:
Natural calamities
Acts of God
Civil unrest, war, epidemics, or diseases
Government-imposed lockdowns or travel restrictions
Left Wing Extremism or Terrorism
Tourism restrictions in the Reserve
You may:Reschedule to a mutually agreed future date at no extra cost, OR
Opt for a refund (minimum cancellation charge slab will apply).
2. Cancellations by Periyar Tourism
Periyar Tourism reserves the right to cancel bookings in cases of:
Fraudulent or incorrect information provided by guests
Facility shutdown for repairs or VIP visits
Internal errors in the booking system
In such cases, guests will receive a full refund.
3. Cancellation Requests
All cancellation requests must be submitted via email to:

4. No-Show & Partial Cancellations
No-shows will not be refunded or rescheduled.
Partial cancellations or modifications are not permitted once a booking is confirmed.
5. Refunds
Refunds will be processed within 15 days, subject to approval.
Payment gateway charges are non-refundable.
6. Cancellation Charges
